Building Plots are the creative spaces in Fling Things and People. Community documentation describes visible plot boundaries, a member list with four ranks, an Item Builder, a house toy capacity, and save/load controls for the owner. The boundary also separates ordinary public-server physics play from a space intended for building and collaboration.

Use the live plot interface as the final authority. Plot count, button layout, default save availability, exact permissions, object selection, and inactivity behavior can change. The official pass catalog confirms several boundaries—personal Toy limits versus the house limit, extra house save access, and protection from being removed after staying away too long—but it does not document the complete plot UI.

Claim or join the right plot

Walk to a claimable plot and look for the boundary plus its ownership or membership display. Do not confuse public landmark homes with Building Plots. If the plot is unclaimed, follow the live claim prompt. If it has an owner, use the request function rather than moving objects from outside or repeatedly interrupting the builders.

Before placing anything, agree on the session goal. A house, obstacle course, display, and physics test arena need different space and object rules. Mark a clear spawn zone near the Item Builder and a clear walking route through the plot. Starting with circulation prevents a large decorative object from blocking every later placement.

The Building Plots guide covers the claim sequence, boundary behavior, and a first-room build. It also explains how to reset safely when the wrong plot or owner state appears.

Assign the least authority needed

Community documentation describes four ranks: Owner, Co-Owner, Member, and Requester. Requester is the waiting state. Members can participate in building. Co-Owners have broader membership management. The Owner controls the plot and is associated with save/load access. Exact buttons should be verified in the live member panel.

Do not promote someone only to make the badge look friendly. Give Member access for ordinary collaboration, reserve Co-Owner for a trusted person who must help manage requests, and keep destructive or ownership decisions with the Owner. Review the member list before loading a saved layout or clearing objects.

Use Plot Ranks for a responsive permission matrix. It omits old glitch instructions and labels permissions that still need live confirmation instead of turning them into guarantees.

Place objects in a stable order

Build from large, structural shapes to small details. Set a floor or major boundary, align large furniture, test doors and walking routes, then add decorations. A broad object is easier to rotate and position before the plot is crowded. Use drop rather than throw for placement, and reduce Grab Line distance in tight rooms.

Keep one object’s width between the active placement and another player. Physics corrections can move a piece after it appears settled, especially when several people grab nearby objects. Ask collaborators to stop moving the same piece before you rotate it.

If a placement fails, return the object to an open staging area rather than fighting it inside the room. Check Rotate Objects for axis control and PC Controls or Mobile Controls for device-specific inputs.

Use the Item Builder deliberately

Current community documentation describes a selection table with themed pages and a trapdoor or lift that delivers the chosen object. Approach the selector, identify the current page, and choose one item only after clearing the output area. Watch the delivery cycle before stepping onto the opening or placing another object above it.

Treat each page as a live category rather than relying on an old fixed item count. Record a useful item by displayed icon/name, category, approximate size, and intended job. Unknown or seasonal entries can remain outside a permanent list until they are visible again.

The Item Builder guide explains selection, output clearance, role checks, and an efficient build queue. Personal Toy purchases and plot-built objects can have different limits, so do not assume a pass for Your Toys changes the house boundary.

Save before risky changes

Use the save/load panel only after confirming the current slot and the state of the plot. Walk through the build once, make sure important objects are present, and ask collaborators to stop moving pieces. Then select Save and wait for visible completion feedback before switching slots or leaving.

Loading can replace the current layout. If you are unsure what a slot contains, do not test it over a build you have not saved. Erase controls are especially sensitive: community documentation describes both clearing the house and using a cleared state in slot management. Read the actual confirmation text and never follow an old timing exploit.

The official More House Saves pass says it unlocks extra house save files but does not state the exact number in its current product description. The official Infinite House Time pass says you are not removed from a house list merely for staying away too long, while still listing exceptions for claiming a different house or becoming a Requester elsewhere. Use House Saves before either purchase.

Understand the two toy limits

The official Raised Toys Limit description distinguishes personal toys from house toys. It raises Your Toys from 100 to 200 and explicitly says the 600 house limit remains 600. That means the pass helps a player who spawns many personal toys, not a group trying to double a plot’s build capacity.

Keep the house count under control by removing temporary scaffolding, duplicate props, failed experiments, and objects hidden inside other pieces. Capacity is only one reason to clean: fewer loose objects also reduce collision surprises and make saved layouts easier to inspect.

Collaboration routine

Begin with roles: one owner manages saves, one trusted person handles membership if needed, and builders choose separate zones. Use an open staging area for new objects. Announce before loading, erasing, or moving a major shared piece. Save at meaningful milestones rather than after every tiny adjustment.

At the end, stop all movement, inspect the build from outside and inside, verify the chosen slot, save, wait for confirmation, and note which collaborators should retain access. If a person leaves, review whether the live rank-transfer behavior changes ownership.

Building FAQ

Are Building Plots safe from every interaction?

Community documentation describes protection from being grabbed or flung inside the plot. Confirm the current boundary and do not assume it protects objects placed across the edge.

Who should be Co-Owner?

Only a trusted collaborator who needs member-management authority. Ordinary builders usually need a lower role.

Does Raised Toys Limit increase house capacity?

No. The official pass description says the house limit stays at 600.

How many free save slots are there?

Community pages describe one default slot, but the official pass description does not confirm a number. Check the live save panel before buying or overwriting anything.
